Tataouine, Chenini & the Ksours – A Day with Berbers
In the morning, you will be picked up from your accommodation by a friendly driver. After a short presentation, you set off to discover the wonders of southern Tunisia.
First, you leave the island of Djerba via an ancient Roman road. Along the way, you stop to take gorgeous vacation photos of the salt lake of Chahbania.
Then, you continue to Tataouine. This town gave the planet Tatooine its name in the Star Wars saga. You enjoy some free time to wander the local market and practice your negotiating skills with the merchants.
After that, you continue your journey to the Berber village of Chenini. From there, you admire a breathtaking view of the mountain. You stay for about one hour with your local guide. He will be happy to introduce you to the different buildings that make up the village, such as the oil mill, the mosque, the houses carved into the mountain, and much more.
Later, you enjoy a delicious local meal in a typical setting.
In the afternoon, you depart for Ksar Hadada. This is where some scenes from the movie "Star Wars Episode I: The Phantom Menace" were filmed.
Finally, to end your amazing day, you return to Djerba in an air-conditioned vehicle.
