The Kantaoui port

Port Kantaoui, located northwest of Sousse, is one of the most prominent seaside resorts in Tunisia. This charming marina, surrounded by lush palm trees and ancient fortresses, offers a unique blend of history and modernity, with its long sandy beaches along the Tunisian Sahel.

Sousse itself is a city of contrasts, where the ancient medina, with its golden stone ramparts facing the sea, coexists with lively modern districts full of palm-lined avenues, shops, and entertainment spots. Just a short distance from Sousse, Port Kantaoui, known as the “first garden port of the Mediterranean,” boasts a beautiful marina, luxury hotels, residences, and a renowned 18-hole golf course.

Designed in an Arab-Andalusian style, the resort was developed under the vision of President Habib Bourguiba in the 1970s to boost tourism in the region. Opened in 1979, the port has since expanded, featuring leisure facilities like Hannibal Park and numerous cafes, restaurants, and shops catering to tourists. Its pedestrian-friendly streets, reminiscent of Sidi Bou Saïd, are adorned with whitewashed walls, arcades, and flower-lined alleys.

The marina, hosting up to 340 boats, is a popular spot for regattas and summer events, attracting both locals and international visitors.
